# Zellerfeld ramps up expansion strategy with key leadership appointments

[Leading full-stack 3D printed footwear manufacturer Zellerfeld](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/zellerfeld/) has taken the next step in its global expansion strategy, with two key leadership appointments that underscore its growth ambitions.

Matthew DeNezza joins as CFO, and Sean McCartney will take up the position of COO, working closely with CEO Cornelius Schmitt, “to align financial discipline with operational execution, ensuring Zellerfeld can grow sustainably as adoption of its platform increases globally”.

Since its founding in 2020, Zellerfeld has and continues to be a driving influence in the redefinition of the shoe industry,[ developing its own footwear 3D printing system, the latest version of which - GEN3 - is fully autonomous and built to scale](https://www.voxelmatters.com/zellerfeld-introduces-gen3-its-fastest-and-most-advanced-footwear-3d-printing-system/). It's also become well known through its [partnerships with major brands such as Nike](https://www.voxelmatters.com/nike-and-zellerfeld-expand-3d-printed-footwear-program-with-air-max-95000-debut/).

With the appointment of DeNezza and McCartney, the company is now set to go after an aggressive expansion phase as it looks to increase its US-based production capacity alongside the aforementioned scaling of its global manufacturing platform. [It recently opened a 3D printed footwear production hub in Texas](https://www.voxelmatters.com/zellerfeld-opens-3d-printed-footwear-production-hub-in-texas/), as part of its fully automated, waste-free production model that’s designed for on-demand, localized production.

“Matt and Sean each bring critical experience as Zellerfeld enters its next phase of growth,” stated Schmitt. “Matt has led the financing and financial strategy behind complex infrastructure at multi-billion dollar scale, while Sean has operated global footwear and e-commerce platforms serving millions of customers.

“Together, they strengthen our ability to execute with discipline as we make the physical digital, starting with footwear, bring advanced manufacturing back to the United States, and build a durable global platform for the future.”

De Nezza has more than two decades of financial direction experience, having been at the forefront of capital-intensive, technology-driven businesses, and McCartney brings a strong and lengthy background in operating large, globally distributed platforms across footwear, retail, and e-commerce to the table.

“Zellerfeld is building a fundamentally new manufacturing model, one that replaces legacy supply chains with software-driven, automated production,” said DeNezza. “The opportunity to help grow the business responsibly, invest in US manufacturing, and support partners who are reimagining not only what footwear, but also what other physical products can be, is incredibly compelling.”

“Zellerfeld represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to rethink how physical products are made and delivered,” explained McCartney. “The ability to produce locally, on demand, and at scale has the potential to reshape manufacturing and commerce, and I’m excited to help grow the platform as demand accelerates.”
