XYZO has launched a hybrid manufacturing platform that combines additive manufacturing, precision machining, finishing, inspection and process control in a single connected line for polymer parts. The company says the platform was built to take a part from digital design to a finished, measured component through one controlled workflow, and claims it dramatically reduces manual intervention between production stages.

“Manufacturers ultimately need finished parts that are accurate, repeatable, and economically viable to produce,” said Kegan McColgan-Bannon, Chief Executive Officer at XYZO.

The platform follows extensive research from the company into the barriers keeping AM from moving out of prototyping and into repeatable production. XYZO described it as a commercially focused technology rather than an experimental concept or research demonstrator.

The modular platform can combine Digital Light Processing, Fused Deposition Modeling, pellet extrusion, drop-on-demand deposition and CNC micro-milling. Cleaning, curing, inspection and other post-processing operations run alongside these steps.

XYZO is targeting precision prototyping, microfluidics and diagnostics, medical devices, printed electronics, defense applications, and low-to-medium-volume production where conventional tooling could not be justified.

The company is also developing application-specific manufacturing workflows with customers, allowing parts and processes to be evaluated before rollout.
