Exponential Technologies Ltd. (xT) is partnering with Aubert & Duval to further accelerate the industrial expansion of additive manufacturing (AM) and reduce barriers to deploying AM technologies at scale. The goal of the collaboration is to include Aubert & Duval’s metal powder products for powder bed fusion applications into the printer parameter development platform xT AMi. The addition of printer and material-specific information to the xT AMi platform reduces necessary real-life experimentation by up to 90% and allows faster go-to-market times for AM products.

xT is active in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in industrial markets. In particular, xT has a track record of delivering software products in the field of industrial R&D. Combining their experience with AI/ML technologies and their knowledge of the AM market, xT is ready to gradually turn the promise of “first time right” into reality.

“We are happy to welcome Aubert & Duval to our xT AMi platform. We are especially proud of the fact that from now on customers of Aubert & Duval will only require minimal real-life experimentation to develop or customize printer parameters. In the long run the xT AMi platform will benefit all stakeholders in the AM space as it will reduce entry barriers and boost the growth of the market as a whole.” stated Matthias Kaiser, CEO of xT.

Aubert & Duval, a subsidiary of the High-Performance Alloys Division of the Eramet group, is a leading supplier of high-performance steels, superalloys, titanium and aluminum. The company designs and develops advanced metallurgical solutions in the form of closed-die forged or forged parts, long products or metal powders.

Peter VIKNER, Aubert & Duval Metal Powders Product Manager added: “At Aubert & Duval we see how new ideas and technologies proposed by innovative start-ups help develop the additive manufacturing and we are happy to be able to work with Exponential Technologies Ltd (xT) in their development. The technology they propose is promising and we are eager to see if it can help part makers accelerate the adoption of new materials”.

Further partnerships for the xT AMi platform are to be revealed soon and will include machine, test device and material manufacturers, software companies and end-users. The beta-version of the platform will be presented at the Formnext 2021.
