Xometry says Texas manufacturing jobs outpaced national growth in 2026
Certified suppliers on the company's platform captured a widening share of job value, according to Xometry’s proprietary data
Job growth among Texas-based manufacturers on Xometry’s platform tracked at nearly twice the rate seen across the company’s national partner network in 2026, according to new data from Xometry.
The company said data from its online marketplace, which connects buyers and suppliers of custom manufacturing and covers actors across aerospace, defense, energy and industrial sectors, displayed an increasing shift towards Texas’s manufacturing base to meet domestic sourcing needs.
Citing the Texas Defense Aerospace Manufacturing Community, Xometry said the state is home to more than 25,000 manufacturing firms and is the nation’s second-largest manufacturing economy, with a base built on precision machining, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and injection molding.
Certified work commanded a premium
Jobs on Xometry’s platform that required industry credentials — including AS9100D, ISO 9001, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 — generated about 3.4 times the annual job value of non-certified jobs in 2025, the company reported.
In Texas, that certified work included machined tool-steel fixtures for aerospace production tooling, CNC-milled corrosion-resistant fittings for shipboard defense electronics, and 3D printed flame-retardant housings for unmanned aerial vehicles.
“Texas isn’t just keeping pace with the nation’s manufacturing growth; it’s leading it, and we’re proud to be part of that momentum,” said Silpa Gollapalli, Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Xometry. “Certified shops are capturing a wave of demand from buyers across the country, and more of them are finding it on Xometry.

Job value concentrated in a handful of cities
Eleven Texas cities accounted for approximately 81% of the state’s total manufacturing job value on Xometry’s platform over the past year, with El Paso and Houston together representing 51%, the company said.
