# VoxelMatters returns as official media partner for Formnext Technology Talks 2026

VoxelMatters is again serving as the official media partner for the Formnext Technology Talks, a year-round webinar series organized by Mesago Messe Frankfurt that runs through October 2026 ahead of [Formnext, the world's leading trade show for additive manufacturing, taking place in Frankfurt from November 17 to 20](https://www.voxelmatters.com/event/formnext-2026/).

The Technology Talks are free, digital live sessions of approximately 60 minutes each, held via Zoom and made available as recordings afterward. Three focus areas are scheduled for 2026: energy, oil, and gas; automotive, transport, and mobility; and architecture and construction. Each session brings together confirmed speakers from major industrial operators and technology users. As a special incentive, all participants who attend receive a voucher code for a complimentary entrance ticket to Formnext 2026.

Davide Sher, Co-founder and CEO of VoxelMatters, moderates the series, anchoring each session with current market data and directing the discussion.

## Energy, oil and gas: July 7

The first session, scheduled for July 7 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. CET, focuses on how additive manufacturing is being applied across oil and gas operations, energy generation, and maintenance workflows. Registration for this talk is already open at this [link](https://lnkd.in/gK9iG7gB).

Topics include an analysis of how additive manufacturing has become a key part of the energy sector, not only in offshore and downstream oil and gas (for spare parts, pump housings, valve bodies, impellers, heat exchangers, nozzles, and burner components), but also in renewables.

The broader relevance today stems from two converging pressures: energy companies are managing aging assets that predate modern supply chains, while also being asked to build new clean energy infrastructure faster than conventional manufacturing can keep pace. AM addresses both.

Confirmed speakers include Trine Boyer, Portfolio On-Demand and AM Implementation Lead at Vår Energi; Jeremy Haight, Product Owner and Chief Engineer AM and Applied Robotics at Vestas; Brede Laerum, Head of AM Center of Excellence at Equinor; and Philipp Pink, Head of Center of Competence Additive Manufacturing at Wiener Stadtwerke/Wiener Netze (Vienna Public Utilities).

## Automotive, transport and mobility: September 23

The second session, on September 23 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. CET, addresses AM applications in lightweight design, functional integration, and component development for the mobility sector, where use cases have now moved well beyond prototyping and toolmaking.

Leveraging exclusive data from VoxelMatters' latest automotive report, we'll discuss how AM increasingly makes economic sense for decentralized production, digital warehouses and spare parts/obsolescence management. The common thread is flexibility: low volumes, no dedicated tooling, rapid replacement and the elimination of stocking costs—well-suited to an industry that is experiencing some of the most complex transitions in its entire history.

Ralf Anderhofstadt, Head of the Center of Competence Additive Manufacturing, Printing Shop and Media at Daimler Trucks and Buses, and Stefanie Brickwede, Head of Additive Manufacturing at Deutsche Bahn, have confirmed their participation.

Specifically, Ralf Anderhofstadt will address on-demand, decentralized production and digital warehouse strategies to return trucks and buses to maintenance and operation as quickly as possible. Stefanie Brickwede will cover on-demand production and digital warehousing of obsolescent spare parts as rolling stock ages, as well as practical AM use cases at railway stations and certification initiatives for additively manufactured spare parts.

## Architecture and construction: October 13

The final session of the year takes place on October 13 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. CET and covers 3D printing applications in construction, including fabrication of complex geometries, new material approaches, and sustainable building processes.

The discussion featuring Manuel Jiménez Garcia, Founder and Creative Director of NAGAMI, and Michael Osswald, General Manager at Rupp Gebäudedruck, will cover how concrete and large-format polymer 3D printing has moved from demonstration projects to genuine deployment, with completed multi-unit residential developments from companies in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Construction times and labor costs compare favorably with conventional methods for straightforward geometries, and the technology is particularly relevant where labor is scarce, or housing needs to be deployed quickly—in disaster relief, remote communities, and high-growth urban markets.

Beyond concrete, AM is used for complex architectural components—such as facades, structural nodes, and custom formwork—where conventional production would be prohibitive. Metal AM has found a niche in structural steel for free-form architecture, with wire arc processes enabling load-bearing infrastructure at scale. The main constraints are material certification and building code compliance, but labor shortages and cost pressures on conventional construction are pushing adoption forward regardless.
