voxeljet opens new Asian facility in Shanghai

Voxeljet, a leading manufacturer of sand and polymer binder jetting industrial 3D printers, is officially opening its new 78,000 square foot voxeljet Asia facility in Suzhou, nearby Shanghai (China) on Thursday, May 16th, exactly two years after the first stone was set. The cutting edge additive manufacturing hub will have more than 400 tons of annual 3D printing capacity.

Announced in 2017, the new voxeljet China (VXCN) facility is located in Foho High-Tech zones of Wujiang District, Suzhou City, within the greater Shanghai area. The laying of the foundation stone took place on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017.

The new facility will be the new main 3D printing service center for Asia but will also contain office space for administrative management. It occupies an area of approx. 5.500 square meters while to total building area is more than 7.000 square meters.

Up to now 2017, three printing systems were installed at voxeljet China. Both material sets, sand and PMMA (plastic), are currently offered and the printing capacity has been expanded significantly over the past two years.

Voxeljet China is led by Tianshi Jin, who joined as Managing Director in 2015, bringing more than fifteen years of 3D printing and rapid casting experience and a thorough understanding of the Chinese market to the company.

Prior to joining the company, Tianshi Jin was General Manager of Wenzhou Product Innovation Center Co. Ltd., a state-owned company. Moreover, he worked at WPIC and Metang Novatech Co., Ltd. which is one of the leading 3D printing service and system provider. In 2013, Jin founded Meimai Fastcast Suzhou Co. Ltd., which specializes in sand printing and rapid casting services.
