# Velo3D partners with Andretti Performance for 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge

[Velo3D, the company specializing in advanced metal additive mission-critical parts](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/velo3d/), has entered into an agreement with racing team Andretti Performance. The deal, in which Velo3D becomes an official sponsor and AM technology provider to the team, will see the California-based company team up with the renowned racing organization for two rounds of the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Velo3D has designed and manufactured an aluminum CP1 radio controls mounting bracket for the team’s Porsche cockpit, with the key objective to improve rigidity and performance of critical cockpit communication and control systems.

[Using Constellium's Aheadd CP1 aluminum alloy, which is designed specifically for additive manufacturing and used in aerospace and defense](https://www.voxelmatters.com/addup-adds-constelliums-aheadd-cp1-aluminum-alloy-to-material-portfolio/), the alloy’s lightweight, high-strength, and elevated-temperature properties provide a suitable fit for the demands of the Laguna Seca and Indianapolis rounds – the two rounds of the championship at which the team will compete.

The team has entered two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport’s for drivers Jared Andretti and Gabby Chaves, and it will be Andretti’s car that will benefit from the new integration.
