ValCUN expands team and relocates to larger facility
ValCUN, an innovator in metal additive manufacturing hardware, has expanded its operational capacity over the past few months. After recently entering the market with its Molten Metal Deposition technology, which produces parts directly from metal wire, the company has expanded its team, bringing on key personnel in areas critical to its next growth phase: Business Development, Research Engineering, and Office Management.
These new hires are strategically positioned to enhance ValCUN’s capabilities, allowing the company to advance its mission of providing safe, deployable, and cost-effective metal additive manufacturing solutions. CEO Jonas Galle said, “We are delighted to welcome new colleagues to the team. Each of them brings vital skills that we need to enter this new phase, enabling us to continue our exponential growth. With this expansion, we’re also excited to announce our upcoming move to a larger facility in Ghent, scheduled for early 2025. This new space will be the ideal foundation for further growth and development.”
The larger Ghent-based facility will support both ValCUN’s expanded team and anticipated growth in its product range and technological capabilities. The company’s technology stands out due to its distinct approach to metal additive manufacturing: It eliminates the need for powder feedstock, lasers, and build plate cutting, along with avoiding the use of modified alloys and the debinding/sintering process. This streamlined process minimizes operational complexities and maximizes safety, positioning ValCUN as a leader in accessible and efficient additive manufacturing.
ValCUN’s initial focus centers on aluminum, a widely used yet underserved metal within the additive manufacturing industry. Target applications for their technology include customized serial parts, heat exchangers, enclosures, and functional lightweight components suitable for various industrial uses, even beyond small series production.
Looking to further showcase their advancements on the Minerva 3D printer and printheads, ValCUN will be attending Formnext 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany, from November 19th to 22nd.
