In a move that opens the door to additional possibilities for American and German exhibitors, the United States Department of Commerce has granted Formnext official certification as a recognized industry trade fair. The U.S. Commercial Service, the departmental entity responsible for promoting American exports, also supports German companies interested in doing business in the United States.
The U.S. is one of Formnext’s leading sources of exhibitors outside of Germany, having come in second to only China in this respect with a share of 10.7% in 2017. Last year, both major international American companies in additive manufacturing and numerous ambitious start-ups booked space at Formnext. Companies such as 3D Systems, Desktop Metal, EnvisionTEC, ExOne, General Electric, HP, and Stratasys were on hand to represent the U.S. elite in additive manufacturing in Frankfurt am Main. Many new American exhibitors are set to join them this year, including internationally renowned start-up Carbon 3D.
“As the world’s leading exhibition for additive manufacturing and modern industrial production, Formnext is offering more and more U.S. companies the perfect setting for introducing themselves to an international audience of experts and gaining a foothold in the German and European markets,” reports Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President for Formnext at event organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “The certification we’ve obtained from the U.S. Commercial Service is now going to help us provide these firms with an even better platform and further services.”
