# Ursa Major secures $100M Series E to target advanced propulsion applications

[Advanced propulsion manufacturer and additive manufacturing adopter Ursa Major](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/ursa-major/) has raised $100 million in a Series E equity round and secured an additional $50 million in debt funding, marking a major financial boost as the company ramps up production of hypersonic systems, solid rocket motors, and space mobility solutions.

The round was led by Eclipse, with participation from both new and returning investors, including Woodline Partners, Principia Growth, XN, and Alsop Louie Partners, as well as other institutional backers.

Contracts span government and commercial sectors, including partnerships with the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Stratolaunch, and BAE Systems.

## Scaling hypersonics, solid rocket motors, and space mobility

Ursa Major said the new capital will be directed toward expanding manufacturing capacity and accelerating development across its major product lines—particularly throttleable, storable, liquid-fueled hypersonic propulsion, solid rocket motors, and space-based mobility systems.

“This year, our Ursa Major team has proven we are building the next great aerospace and defense company,” said CEO Dan Jablonsky. “Our investors recognize our milestones—flying hypersonic several times, advancing our solid rocket motor programs, completing tests for space propulsion systems, and securing a record booking portfolio—are just the start of this next chapter. This investment gives us the tools to solve critical strategic industrial base and national security challenges for the United States and our allies.”

Ursa Major positions its technology as a faster, more cost-effective alternative to legacy propulsion providers, addressing what it describes as urgent gaps in the U.S. industrial base.

## Industrial-scale momentum

“Ursa Major is doing what few others in defense have achieved — scaling manufacturing and supply chains to deliver hypersonic systems and advanced propulsion at an industrial scale,” said Lior Susan, founding partner at Eclipse. “We’re proud to support their mission to strengthen the U.S. and allied industrial base with real capability, built here and built now.”

Ursa Major also recently added prominent industry leaders Ronald Sugar and Gilman Louie to its corporate board, reinforcing its governance bench as the company accelerates its growth trajectory.

Since its previous funding round, the company has conducted multiple successful flights of its hypersonic engines and tactical missile systems—milestones that signal both technical maturity and readiness for broader deployment.

With substantial financial backing and a growing portfolio of government and commercial contracts, Ursa Major [has been successfully leveraging additive manufacturing](https://www.voxelmatters.com/eos-selected-by-ursa-major-to-accelerate-hypersonics-and-defense-manufacturing/) to position itself as a leading propulsion supplier in the emerging era of hypersonic and space-based defense capabilities.
