# Unionfab cuts low-volume metal parts production cycle from 30 days to five

[Shanghai-based Unionfab, a digital manufacturing platform](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/unionfab/) affiliated with [industrial 3D printing equipment manufacturer UnionTech](https://www.voxelmatters.com/uniontech-has-sold-over-20000-industrial-sla-systems-to-date/), claims it has cut selected low-volume metal parts production cycles from 30 days to as little as five, as part of a strategic move to expand its metal additive manufacturing services in the United States, Canada and Germany.

The improvement was achieved through a combination of multi-laser selective laser melting (SLM) systems and proprietary AI process pre-compensation technology. Unionfab has more than 100 industrial metal 3D printing systems in operation, including four-laser and six-laser SLM platforms now in scaled production.

Compared with conventional dual-laser systems, the company reported that its latest multi-laser configurations increase printing efficiency by up to 40% while reducing manufacturing costs by approximately 30%.

The AI pre-compensation technology enables high-speed printing at a 0.6 mm layer thickness while maintaining high density and consistent surface quality.

Unionfab supports a range of industrial-grade materials, and claims to now operate more than 1,000 industrial 3D printers and 400 CNC machines, a number that signals significant further growth [since VoxelMatters did a detailed breakdown of the company’s fleet of almost 800 machines this time last year](https://www.voxelmatters.com/how-unionfab-has-built-the-worlds-largest-fleet-of-3d-printing-production-machines/). Unionfab offers end-to-end manufacturing services spanning 3D printing, CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal and rapid casting.

“Over the past few years, China's metal 3D printing industry has undergone rapid technological iteration and industrial maturation. Continuous innovation among equipment manufacturers, material supply chains and manufacturing service providers is driving rapid improvements in printing efficiency, process stability and overall manufacturing costs,” said Allen Yang, Chief Executive Officer of Unionfab.

“We believe now is an important time for global manufacturers to reassess how they develop and produce complex metal parts.”
