# UltiMaker takes on exclusive Americas distribution of Tectonic-3D’s filament portfolio

[UltiMaker, a provider of professional desktop and industrial 3D printing platforms](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/ultimaker/), has been named the exclusive distributor for [Tectonic-3D](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/tectonic-3d/) across North and South America.

The deal builds on a pre-existing technical relationship between the two companies, which had previously worked together on defense-specific printing applications, including the development of print profiles for aerospace and defense use cases running on UltiMaker hardware.

Tectonic-3D focuses on engineering polymers for sectors where standard filaments are unable to meet end-use performance requirements. Its portfolio targets what the company described as a performance gap in additive manufacturing — the range of applications in aerospace, defense, energy, and automotive production that demand defined thermal resistance, flame retardancy, or mechanical strength beyond the capabilities of commodity thermoplastics.

“Tectonic-3D's commitment to advanced material innovation perfectly complements our mission to provide a reliable, industrial-grade production platform,” said Jim Franz, [President of the Americas at UltiMaker](https://www.voxelmatters.com/ultimaker-launches-makerbot-scholarship/). “By becoming the exclusive U.S. distributor, we are giving our customers direct access to the most advanced filaments on the market, backed by the seamless integration and support they expect from UltiMaker.”

Under the agreement, UltiMaker will take on the distribution of Tectonic-3D's complete filament range, which spans four product series. The KRATIR series covers carbon fiber (CF) and glass fiber (GF) reinforced polymers engineered for high stiffness and heat resistance. The ZEPHYR series comprises bio-based, lightweight structural materials developed for drone and aerial platforms, VULCAN addresses high-temperature and flame-retardant requirements, and ANASA provides biocompatible and flexible thermoplastic copolyester (TPC) materials for medical and ergonomic applications.

Ten dedicated print profiles for this material range have been made available through the UltiMaker Marketplace, [configured specifically for the S series](https://www.voxelmatters.com/ultimaker-upgrades-speed-of-s-series-3d-printers/) and [Factor series printers](https://www.voxelmatters.com/ultimaker-launches-factor-4-industrial-grade-3d-printer/), reducing the calibration effort required to run Tectonic-3D materials in production workflows.

“We look forward to building upon our partnership with UltiMaker,” said Ken Kempinski, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Tectonic-3D. “Our materials are designed to push the boundaries of what is possible in additive manufacturing. We are extremely excited to expand our collaborations with UltiMaker on their S and Factor series printers.”
