Ultimaker appoints Miguel Calvo as its CTO

Ultimaker appointed Miguel Calvo as its Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Printers and Peripherals. Mr. Calvo took up his functions on February 1, 2021. He oversees research and development of Ultimaker’s full portfolio of printers and peripherals. He will also collaborate with Ultimaker’s key industry partners to ensure seamless integration of the company’s 3D printing platform into existing workflows.

Mr. Calvo served as Development Director at Linx Printing Technologies prior to joining Ultimaker. He led the development of Linx’s compact industrial Continuous Inkjet Printer. Mr. Calvo began his career in the automotive industry, where he designed and developed Fuel Injection Equipment for world-class original equiment manufacturers. Prior to Linx, Mr. Calvo held multiple R&D leadership positions in several high-tech industries, including aerospace, clean power generation and material handling.

Adam Strömbergsson

Adam is a legal researcher and writer with a background in law and literature. Born in Montreal, Canada, he has spent the last decade in Ottawa, Canada, where he has worked in legislative affairs, law, and academia. Adam specializes in his pursuits, most recently in additive manufacturing. He is particularly interested in the coming international and national regulation of additive manufacturing. His past projects include a history of his alma mater, the University of Ottawa. He has also specialized in equity law and its relationship to judicial review. Adam’s current interest in additive manufacturing pairs with his knowledge of historical developments in higher education, copyright and intellectual property protections.
