# UK robotic machining specialist CNC Robotics to close after 16 years

[CNC Robotics Ltd, a UK robotic integration company based in Bootle](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/cnc-robotics/), near Liverpool, announced it will close after 16 years in business. In a statement released this week, the company said rising costs and a challenging economic environment across UK manufacturing left it unable to secure the investment needed to continue trading, despite what it described as significant opportunities that did not come together in time.

![CNC Robotics announces its closure after 16 years, impacted by rising costs in the UK manufacturing sector.](https://www.voxelmatters.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/caracol-3dp-thermoplastic-scaled.webp)Founded in 2010 by Jason Barker, CNC Robotics grew from a robotic milling business into one of the UK's established integrators for robotic machining and additive manufacturing. The company became a KUKA Platinum System Integration Partner in 2014, one of a small number of firms in the UK to hold that status, and built a long-running alliance with large format additive systems developer Caracol, supplying robotic platforms for printing composites and thermoplastics. CNC Robotics was also the only UK reseller for HITECO spindle technology.

Across its history, the company delivered robotic machining and automation systems for clients in aerospace, automotive, rail, marine, and composites, working on projects that ranged from prototyping and tooling to hybrid systems combining additive and subtractive processes on a single robotic cell. In its statement, the company said its greatest achievement had been the relationships built with customers, suppliers, technology partners, universities, and industry bodies over the years.

CNC Robotics thanked its employees, past and present, along with its customers and partners, for their part in the company's history. It said its team, with expertise spanning robotics, automation, engineering, manufacturing, and operations, will now be looking for new roles, and asked organizations with open positions in these areas to get in touch.
