UK-based 3D printing service Division X Creative opens up shop
There is a new design-focused 3D printing service bureau setting up shop in Yorkshire, England. Division X Creative, which launched this week, is a 3D printing service that describes itself as a “collective of makers, engineers and innovators” and a “one-stop-shop” for clients. In other words, the startup’s offering covers the whole production process from design or 3D scanning to printing and post-processing.
The company was launched by David Ryan, who is serving as its director. Prior to founding Division X Creative, Ryan had a nearly three year tenure at Fluxaxis, a digital manufacturing service specializing in creative design and industrial manufacturing. Division X Creative, for its part, has positioned itself for a broad range of customers, including those from aerospace, automotive, engineering and entertainment and events.

On the company’s website, it lists a number of 3D printing technologies as part of its service, including FDM, Polyjet, Multi Jet Fusion, Massivit’s large-format technology (1500 mm x 1200 mm x 1800 mm) and full-color 3D printing. Division X Creative also highlights its post-processing capability, stating: “Using our expertise in the theatre, we use traditional scenic painting techniques and high-performance spray paint to ensure a smooth final finish. We can even finish 3D prints in real electroplated metals such as brass, nickel and chrome.”
The company adds: “Division X Creative uses its 3D prints as an essential part in the production of the final creative intent, using the 3D part to create moulds for composite production and casting the objects in clear or translucence resins, silicones and jesmonite, ensuring that Division X Creative can produce any 3D print brief in every texture or material required.”
Overall, it seems like Division X Creative was created to be a holistic 3D printing service, whose offering extends beyond 3D printing and delivering parts. That is, the company emphasizes a range of supporting services, including artworking, design and development, project management and a consultancy, all of which showcase Division X’s intention to work closely with its clients to develop creative products and solutions.
