Ubiosoft UK is celebrating the release of Assassin’s Creed Origin – the latest episode in the popular videogame saga – by unveiling a ‘one of a kind’ machine-crafted Sarcophagus, inspired by the Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, Tutankhamun. A promotional video was published on the game’s YouTube channel.

Created through the merging of the latest stereolithography 3D printing and machining technology, this 3D replica model has been crafted with cutting-edge pre-programmed modeling science, to mark the global launch of the videogame on  Friday 27th October.

This also proves once again how much videogame 3D animations and 3D printing can explore synergies. Given the games’ globlal relevance, it is also another indication of how 3D printing is now a proven marketing and communication tool – as well as a powerful manufacturing technology.

With an added final twist, the Sarcophagus is mounted with a TV screen and an Xbox One X console, transforming the unit into the perfect 21st century gaming cabinet, complete with an integrated holder to place the Xbox One controller on.
