Founded in 2017, Israeli startup Tritone has been quietly working on a new technology for some time. Now, the young company is ready to unveil its new metal additive manufacturing platform, the Tritone DOMINANT. The 3D printer will be officially revealed at the upcoming Formnext trade show in Frankfurt.

Though we don’t have many details about the patented Tritone DOMINANT technology, here is what we do know. The system is designed to facilitate the transition between prototyping and mass production for metal components. It is also compatible with a broad range of metal materials, including titanium, stainless steels, tool steels and copper alloys, as well as ceramics such as alumina. Tritone says its technology works with most commercial metals used in the MIM industry.

Built for industrial production, the metal AM system has a throughput of up to 1000 cc per hour and can produce parts ranging in size from 2 mm to 250 mm. Another notable feature highlighted on Tritone’s website is that the Tritone DOMINANT functions as a powderless environment: metal materials are contained within sealed cartridges, resulting in a safer and cleaner work area. The technology also integrates automation features, like auto layer correction.

“Our proprietary technology is a game changer for the AM industry,” said Omer Sagi, VP Products and Business Development at Tritone. “Tritone’s solution can facilitate any shape, design and complexity for fast go-to-market industrial production. The market is ready to shift gear from prototyping to mass production of high-quality metal parts, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this emerging revolution.”

In terms of applications, Tritone says its metal additive manufacturing technology can be used broadly in industries like aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, tooling and healthcare—many of which are already exploring or exploiting metal AM.

As mentioned, Tritone will be presenting its new DOMINANT metal 3D printing system at Formnext from November 19 to 22 at its booth B27 in Hall 12.0.

  1. Been in the metal and casting industry for more than 30 years.
I have seen the machine at formnext and it seems as demo version. it will take many years until it will be ready for the market.
probably it is clear to many of the visitors. still it is a nice refreshment to see the industry growing.
