# Tiger Aesthetics backs GenesisTissue to advance 3D bioprinted breast reconstruction

The deal reflects Tiger’s broader push into regenerative tissue products as the company expands beyond its existing adipose tissue and implant-based offerings.

Tiger executives said GenesisTissue’s platform aligns with their goal of creating treatment options that integrate more naturally with a patient’s body.

“GenesisTissue shares our vision, and alongside alloClae, its 3D bioprinted scaffold represents the kind of bold innovation that will shape a new paradigm for plastic and reconstructive surgery,” said Caro Van Hove, President of Tiger Aesthetics.

GenesisTissue is developing a degradable scaffold intended to support autologous or allogeneic fat transfer. The product is designed to degrade over time and be replaced by the patient’s own tissue, offering a potential alternative to traditional silicone implants. While still in development and not yet approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the scaffold is aimed at applications in both mastectomy and lumpectomy reconstruction, as well as elective cosmetic procedures.

The company’s approach targets an unmet need in breast reconstruction following lumpectomy, a surgery performed on roughly 200,000 patients annually in the U.S., many of whom currently forego reconstruction due to the lack of viable implant-based options.

“With advances in 3D bioprinting and material science, we can finally move beyond implants made from legacy industrial materials toward living, regenerative solutions,” said Katie Weimer, CEO and Co-Founder of GenesisTissue. “Every woman deserves the right to a lifelong, natural breast restoration.”

GenesisTissue’s bioprinting platform integrates patient-specific modeling, engineered biomaterials, and automated manufacturing workflows. The company reports that its technology is designed to replicate native tissue architecture while providing mechanical integrity to support soft tissue restoration.

Tiger Aesthetics said the investment will bolster its regenerative medicine pipeline, which includes breast implants under the Sientra brand, tissue expanders, fat grafting systems, and the recently launched alloClae. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

GenesisTissue's products remain investigational and are not commercially available. The company did not provide a timeline for regulatory submission or market availability.
