The CSF establishes the Space Supply Chain Council (S2C2)
Bringing together leading aerospace component manufacturers (like Stratasys), assembly integration and test providers, software developers, and logistics and transportation companies
In an effort to strengthen advocacy for the US space industry, the Commercial Space Federation (CSF) has established the Space Supply Chain Council (S2C2), which will define industry sector priorities, recommend policy positions, and provide updates on specific topics that impact CSF members.
As a consensus-based association, CSF has more than 85 members from all sectors of the industry, including traditional aerospace companies, new space innovators, and space-oriented educational institutions. CSF is a key resource for providing advice and counsel on space policy to Congress, the White House, and federal agencies.
The S2C2 will bring together leading aerospace component manufacturers, assembly integration and test providers, software developers, and logistics and transportation companies. These organizations represent multiple links of a complex supply chain essential to the robust industrial base that enables US leadership in space.
The S2C2 joins six existing industry councils at CSF on topics including launch and reentry, commercial low Earth orbit, space exploration, spaceports and infrastructure, remote sensing and analytics, and space situational awareness. It is actively seeking additional representative member organizations.
The inaugural members include: Applied Aerospace – providing precision structures and critical sub-systems for launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, missile defense, and ground communications systems through a range of composite, metal, and polymer manufacturing techniques; Stratasys – leading the global shift to 3D printing with solutions for industries such as aerospace, automotive, consumer products, and healthcare; and National Air Cargo – providing end-to-end logistics and freight forwarding solutions.
The creation of the Space Supply Chain Council comes at a pivotal time as US policy and international trade relations are evolving at an accelerated pace under the new presidential administration.
