Tekna to supply TriTech with titanium powder for P-1 binder jetting system

Tekna, a provider of advanced metal materials, will provide titanium powder to TriTech Titanium Parts, a pioneering additive manufacturing service provider, for use in metal binder jetting. More specifically, the power has been designed for the production of high-quality parts using the P1 platform developed by Desktop Metal.

TriTech is the very first company to use titanium powders for binder jetting applications. The technology developed by Desktop Metal has the potential for large-volume manufacturing. In early TriTech qualified titanium Ti64 for part production on Desktop Metal systems. TriTech, which is ISO 9001:2015 certified, uses metal injection molding (MIM), investment casting, and binder jet 3D printing on the Desktop Metal Production System P-1 to produce titanium parts. The company is a spin-off of AmeriTi Manufacturing Co., which was founded in 1984 and sold last year to Kymera International.

Tekna supplies TriTech with high-quality titanium powder, fulfilling both aerospace AS9100 and medical ISO 13485 standards, designed to achieve exceptional part quality and mechanical properties. By utilizing Tekna’s industrial-grade titanium powder, TriTech expects to unlock the full potential of binder jet 3D printing, providing clients with customized, lightweight, and high-strength titanium parts that surpass traditional manufacturing limitations.
