Now in its fifth year, the TCT Awards is an important annual celebration that allows the industry to take stock and really appreciate how far we are progressing, both in terms of technological innovation and the applications of these technologies across a vast range of industry verticals including medical, automotive, consumer products, industrial products, and the creative arts.

TCT Awards are proudly supported by a fantastic group of sponsors from across the industry, from the event’s Gold Sponsor, HP, to the category sponsors including Nano Dimension, Revopoint, Metrom, 3D Micro Print, Jeol, and Polygonica, the support from the industry shows just how heralded these awards are.

This year TCT Awards received 140 high-quality applications across eleven categories. The independent panel of judges, formed of over twenty industry experts from across the globe, uses a rigorous judging process that considers both the uniqueness and impact of the innovation, as well as how the use of AM technologies has enhanced the project in areas such as cost and time reduction, fitness for purpose, and social, environmental, educational, and business impacts. The very best use cases of ground-breaking technologies are collaborative projects, and the TCT Awards recognizes the partners in a project from designers and engineers to technology providers.

Alongside the eleven technology and applications-based awards categories, TCT Awards also celebrates the people behind the technologies. The prestigious and coveted TCT Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who have had a significant and long-term impact on the additive manufacturing industry and have been pivotal to its growth and success. Current members include industry greats such as Chuck Hull, Hans Langer, Scott Crump, Carl Deckard, and many more.

This year the TCT Advisory Board has nominated AM community members from across the globe who meet the strict judging criteria, to produce a shortlist of six nominees. The 2023 TCT Hall of Fame nominees are Diana Kalisz, Joe Beaman, Andy Christensen, Jean-Pierre Kruth, Melissa Orme, and Nora Toure. The successful inductee will be announced at the TCT Awards Ceremony on 7th June 2023, and will join the twelve previous winners inducted into the TCT Hall of Fame.

TCT is also, once again, collaborating with Women in 3D Printing (WI3DP), for the third year, to present the TCT Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award. This award recognizes women who are at the pinnacle of their profession, leading the charge in developing, enhancing, and innovating within 3D printing and additive manufacturing. TCT and WI3DP invited the 3D printing community to put forward their nominations in a public vote, and received a record number of nominations of incredible women innovating in the AM field. Each of the nominees was then considered on individual merit, by WI3DP and TCT – who had the difficult task of whittling them down to a list of finalists. These incredible women are Alba Gonzalez Alvarez, Beth Ripley, Jessica Drazba, Kate Black, and Parastoo Jamshidi. The winner will be announced at the gala event.

Johnny Herbert.

If that was not enough.. this year, TCT is collaborating with the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation to introduce the TCT Sanjay Mortimer Foundation Rising Star Award. This award seeks to recognize an up-and-coming neurodivergent young person who has the potential to contribute greatly to the engineering industry. The winning entrant will receive a Prusa 3D printer to help support their journey into engineering, plus the opportunity to apply to become an SMF Star – providing access to grants, training, and more.

The awards culminate in a dazzling ceremony for a night of 3D printing and additive manufacturing excellence – bringing together the best of the industry to share in these amazing achievements. The distinguished host for the evening is F1 legend, Johnny Herbert, who is widely recognized as one of the greatest all-round racing drivers in the history of motorsport. After regaling attendees with the best accounts from his days in F1, Johnny will be announcing the winners for each of these fantastic awards at the TCT Awards Ceremony on 7th June at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, UK.

The ceremony promises to be a fantastic night of celebration, networking, and additive excellence taking place at the end of day one of TCT 3Sixty, the UK’s most influential 3D printing and additive manufacturing event.
