# SUNLU launches AMS Lite Heater and giveaways for 13th anniversary

This month Chinese 3D printing materials supplier [SUNLU](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/sunlu/) is celebrating its 13th anniversary, and there is real cause to celebrate. The company, which counts over 25 million products sold and operates over 270 production lines, is a leader in the filament and 3D printer accessory market and has built a solid reputation for itself globally.

To celebrate its milestone, the company is not only taking the occasion to introduce a new 3D printing hardware accessory, the AMS Lite Heater, it is also expanding its operations in the United States and kicking off a global anniversary campaign for loyal customers. All in all, the company is setting the stage for a fruitful and community-oriented 13th year.

## AMS Lite Heater, continuous drying and printing

First on the 13th anniversary docket for SUNLU is the launch of the AMS Lite Heater, an accessory designed for the Bambu Lab AMS Lite that enables simultaneous printing and filament drying. The new hardware upgrade, which will be available to purchase from July 20, 2026 (7am UTC), addresses the all-too-common 3D printing problem of moist filament.

Because common filament thermoplastics like PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PA, and PC are all hygroscopic, they tend to absorb moisture from the air. When the filament is heated in the hot end, any moisture trapped in the polymer matrix evaporates, causing problems like stringing, poor layer adhesion, surface imperfections, and overall printing inconsistency. The solution, therefore, is to properly store filaments and protect them from exposure to humidity and to dry them ahead of printing.

Resourceful makers over the years have used DIY tactics to dry filament, like cooking spools at a low temp or using food dehydrators, but these have varying results and can take a long time. The AMS Lite Heater, by contrast, combines active drying with continuous printing, ensuring that filaments fed into the printer are dry without requiring lengthy pre-drying steps or transferring filaments between different devices.

As we said, the AMS Lite Heater has been designed to work in tandem with the Bambu Lab AMS Lite, a popular Automatic Material System that enables users to print multi-material or multi-color prints using Bambu Lab’s [A-series 3D printers](https://www.voxelmatters.com/bambu-lab-a1-review-does-it-live-up-to-the-hype/). The heater, which can reach up to 70°C,  is compatible with an array of filament types, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PA, and PC. Additionally, the system integrates a dual-airflow channel design that ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the chamber, resulting in consistent drying and overall better filament quality.

Retailing for $129.99, the AMS Lite Heater also includes a smart automatic venting system that draws moisture out of the chamber during operation as well as high-precision humidity monitoring, which enables users to set humidity thresholds. If the humidity level in the chamber should hit this threshold, the heater will automatically activate.

“Combined with multiple integrated safety protections and temperature monitoring systems, the AMS Lite Heater delivers a safe, convenient, and highly effective solution for maintaining filament performance throughout the printing process,” SUNLU adds.

## 13th anniversary giveaway

As a sign of appreciation to its customers over the years, SUNLU is kicking off a global anniversary campaign. Through the campaign, 100 SUNLU customers will be awarded prizes, including 10,000 rolls of filament, 100 exclusive anniversary packs, and the new AMT Lite Heater. The company has also allotted $30,000 in community givebacks, which will be divided amongst community members based on a nomination and voting process. (These winners will be selected at the end of the month.)

For the company, the event is a chance to give back to the community that has sustained it over the years. As it says: “Since its founding, SUNLU has placed its users at the heart of its strategy, delivering high-quality products at affordable prices while continuously refining its processes to enhance the overall user experience. SUNLU’s 13th anniversary is the occasion to celebrate altogether one more year of creating, 3D printing and offering.”

As SUNLU celebrates this milestone, it is also preparing for more growth. Specifically, the 3D printing company is expanding its global footprint with a particular focus on the North American market. As part of this expansion, SUNLU will be opening a new factory in the United States to improve product availability for North American customers while reducing shipment times. Ultimately, the investment is part of its plan to offer enhanced services to its growing customer base in the United States and build a foundation for continued growth over the next decade.
