SPEE3D’s innovative LightSPEE3D machine proved that 3D metal printing could be fast and cheap. The development of the large format WarpSPEE3D printer proves that it can also be extra large. Targeted towards production, WarpSPEE3D performs a different role to the smaller LightSPEE3D model. While lightSPEE3D is ideal for materials experimentation, process development and printing small parts, WarpSPEE3D is able to produce industrial components in a matter of hours that could take 6-12 months using traditional casting methods.

WarpSPEE3D 20Kg nozzle

This 20kg pound rocket nozzle stands 265mm x 300mm high and is an aerospace industry game changer, reducing the manufacturing lead time from approximately six months to 7hrs & 48mins. The cost of producing this rocket nozzle on the WarpSPEE3D is just $373.43 USD. The same part traditionally is machined out of a solid billet, a process that would take weeks and cost tens of thousands of dollars.

SPEE3D’s cold spray is a solid-state coating deposition technology which has been applied as an additive manufacturing process to fabricate individual components and to repair damaged components. In comparison with fusion-based high-temperature additive manufacturing processes, cold spray additive manufacturing (CSAM) has been shown to retain the original properties of the feedstock, to produce oxide-free deposits, and to not adversely influence underlying substrate materials during manufacture. Therefore, CSAM is attracting considerable attention from both scientific and industrial communities.
