Solid Print3D, one of the UK’s fastest-growing 3D printing and scanning companies, has acquired 3DVerkstan, a Stockholm-based supplier of 3D printing technology and solutions, with a subsidiary in Denmark. 3DVerkstan Nordic AB has been a driving force for additive manufacturing in Sweden and Scandinavia since 2013.

Solid Print3D is owned by Solid Solutions, and is part of the TriMech Group. Solid Solutions is one of the largest SolidWorks and CAD resellers in the world – and with Solid Print3D – supports 20,000+ engineering companies in the UK and Ireland. Solid Solutions has also very recently acquired 3DPRINTUK, another leading 3D printing service provider, based in London.

3DVerkstan Nordic AB was placed into administration on 21 April, 2023. Since then, the estate has been in an intensive process to select the best-suited buyer for the business, located in Stockholm, Sweden. Solid Print3D reportedly worked quickly to secure the deal – a prudent and important step in an existing European growth strategy for Solid Solutions and Solid Print3D.

The two businesses share many attributes, including customer-centric values, culture, and product portfolio – allowing Solid Print3D to add immediate value and to support the transition and future growth of 3DVerkstan.

“There are clear synergies between 3DVerkstan and Solid Print 3D, from their incredible team, products, and culture, to the fantastic leadership – I believe together we can build quickly to deliver positive results, allowing the 3DVerkstan team to continue to deliver the amazing support and service to their customers,” said Neil Sewell, Managing Director of Solid Print3D.

“After three very hectic weeks, I feel very happy that we, together with Lindskog Malmström Advokatbyrå, have managed to present the values of 3DVerkstan and found an agreement with Solid Print3D – who now will take 3DVerkstan into the next phase with a continued growth. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of 3DVerkstan and the positive momentum we’ll get with this new ownership, where 3DVerkstan will cement and further develop its role as one of the strongest and most appreciated AM-supplier on the Nordic market, now with a solid and strong owner backing us to 100%,” said Patrik Rosén, CEO of 3DVerkstan Nordic AB.
