SHINING 3D Metrology has refreshed three scanners in its FreeScan range, pairing each with an industrial inspection use case in materials, in preparation for a September 9 webinar.

The FreeScan Combo+ Wireless keeps the compact, lightweight form of the model it replaced and adds dual light sources. The new generation adds “a completely wireless workflow and significantly improved scanning performance”.

The FreeScan Trak Nova+ combines dynamic tracking with handheld scanning in a single unit, extending the all-in-one approach of the earlier model. SHINING 3D says the scanner reaches up to 7.6 million points per second and supports multiple laser scanning modes.

And the FreeScan Trak Pro W+ retains the large-volume scanning of its predecessor while adding a redesigned scanner structure and a revised power system.

Four scenarios frame the lineup

The company is organizing the three scanners, plus its existing OptimScan Q Series, around four manufacturing situations: flexible inspection of automotive sheet metal with the Combo+ Wireless; scanning in server manufacturing with the Trak Nova+; large-scale automated automotive inspection with the Trak Pro W+; and high-precision measurement of precision components with the OptimScan Q Series.

The webinar is set to run product introductions, application demonstrations, customer stories and a live question-and-answer session, with more information available here.
