SHINING 3D, a developer of 3D scanning technology, has launched its new high-end measurement brand—SHINING 3D Metrology—alongside the debut of its next-generation scanner, the OptimScan Q12.
Born from over 20 years of innovation in 3D vision technology, SHINING 3D Metrology is purpose-built for the age of Industry 5.0 and digital twins. The brand delivers intelligent, mobile inspection systems that shift quality assurance from isolated labs directly onto the production floor. Its slogan, ‘Inspect on the Move’, reflects a commitment to real-time, data-driven inspection wherever production happens.
At the center of this launch is the OptimScan Q12, a compact, high-precision 3D scanner engineered for demanding manufacturing environments. Powered by four 12.3-megapixel cameras, it captures up to 12 million points per scan with an accuracy of 0.005 mm. With dual scan ranges—160 × 110 mm for detailed parts and 430 × 300 mm for larger components—Q12 eliminates the need for manual switching. Its Monocular-Stereo Fusion (MSF) technology improves data collection on edges and corners, while multiple exposure modes adapt seamlessly to reflective and dark surfaces.
Designed for versatility, the OptimScan Q12 supports handheld scanning, semi-automated setups with turntables, and full robotic integration. It connects easily with existing 3D inspection systems to enable end-to-end workflows—from scanning to reporting.
