SHINING 3D highlights wireless scanning ecosystem at Formnext and Dubai Airshow
Company demonstrates next-generation FreeScan Omni and expanded product portfolio across industrial and creative applications
SHINING 3D brought its latest wireless 3D scanning technologies to two major international stages this November, exhibiting at Formnext 2025 in Frankfurt and the Dubai Airshow. The dual presence is part of the company’s effort to push wireless metrology into both accessible and industrial-grade domains, from creative prototyping to aerospace manufacturing.
Wireless metrology at Formnext 2025
At Formnext, SHINING 3D’s exhibition centered on the FreeScan Omni, the company’s newest all-in-one metrology-grade scanner. The system integrates wireless connectivity with an onboard inspection module that processes and verifies scan data directly on the device—eliminating the need for tethered computers or external computation.
The FreeScan Omni represents the next step toward autonomous metrology, enabling users to perform full inspection and quality control in real time. While some companies reduced their presence at Formnext this year, SHINING 3D’s participation represented one of the most comprehensive trade fair showings to date, positioning the Omni as part of a broader third-generation wireless platform.
The booth also introduced the EINSTAR Rockit and EINSTAR 2, two portable scanners extending the company’s consumer and prosumer range, and the EinScan Medixa, a new model designed specifically for medical imaging and healthcare workflows. Together, these releases outline a multi-tiered product strategy built around wireless mobility and cross-sector adaptability.
In addition to new systems, SHINING 3D showcased a range of existing industrial and automation tools, including the RobotScan Q12, FreeScan Trak Nova, FreeScan Combo+, AutoScan Inspec2, EinScan Libre, and EinScan Rigil, offering visitors a broad overview of the company’s scanning and inspection portfolio.

Aerospace focus at the Dubai Airshow
Running concurrently, SHINING 3D Metrology participated in the Dubai Airshow, focusing on aerospace and defense manufacturing. The company exhibited its OptimScan Q12 and FreeScan Omni systems, both configured for high-precision inspection of complex geometries and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations.
The systems are engineered for micron-level accuracy and automated quality control, aligning with the metrological demands of aircraft component manufacturing and certification workflows.
“Our presence at both Formnext and the Dubai Airshow reflects our mission to cover the entire spectrum of 3D digitization,” said Sunny Wong, General Manager of International Business at SHINING 3D. “Whether it’s bringing accessible scanning to creators in Frankfurt or enabling precision inspection for aerospace engineers in Dubai, we’re committed to supporting efficiency and innovation across industries.”
SHINING 3D’s current-generation scanners highlight the company’s strategic focus on self-contained, wireless metrology systems capable of performing full inspection processes independently. As portable systems continue to integrate onboard computation and analytics, the company is positioning itself within a broader industry trend toward cable-free, autonomous 3D measurement.
