# SHINING 3D Dental launches Ceramix-Nano chairside 3D printer

[SHINING 3D](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/shining-3d/) Dental has released the Ceramix-Nano, a chairside [dental 3D printer ](https://www.voxelmatters.com/planmeca-launches-planmeca-creo-x-dental-3d-printer/)capable of producing permanent ceramic crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, and Maryland bridges within a single patient appointment. The Hangzhou-based company stated the device completes the full scan-to-cementation cycle in as little as 30 minutes.

The printer weighs 2kg and measures just 87 x 131 x 276 mm — smaller than a standard shoebox — with printing and curing integrated into one unit. The design requires no dedicated lab space or secondary equipment. SHINING 3D reported that crown design via its SHINING FLOW cloud platform takes under two minutes, followed by an 8-to-11-minute print cycle and a three-minute curing stage.

## Capsule-based material loading

The Ceramix-Nano uses a capsule-based material system in which each cartridge contains a pre-measured quantity of ceramic-filled resin. Scanning a QR code on the capsule causes the printer to configure itself, stir the resin, and begin printing without further user input. The company claimed each capsule yields up to three restorations.

The device runs on patented APS (Adaptive Pneumatic Stereolithography) technology and integrates with SHINING FLOW, the company's cloud-based scan-design-print platform, through which restoration files move from design to print without leaving the system.

## Materials and availability

The Ceramix-Nano's dedicated material, LumiCera, is a high-ceramic resin delivered in the capsule format and carries FDA Class II 510(k) clearance. It is available in five VITA shades: BL, A1, A2, B1, and C2. The printer also supports SAREMCO CROWNTEC for practices with existing material preferences.

“What continues to impress clinicians about SHINING 3D is their ability to deliver powerful capability in such a compact design. This new capsule printer brings powerful chairside printing for long-term restorations into an incredibly small and efficient system,” commented Dr. Isaac Tawil, DDS MS.
