SENAI CIMATEC expands additive manufacturing bureau
Consolidating its leadership in industrial 3D printing in Brazil
SENAI CIMATEC expanded the Additive Manufacturing Bureau at CIMATEC Park in Camaçari (BA) as part of a strategic initiative developed in partnership with the Oil and Gas company Petrobras. The expansion represents a milestone for the industry in Bahia and Brazil and reinforces the institution’s role in advancing technologies for industrial innovation.
With the expansion, the bureau now offers high-performance polymer printing and metallic printing by directed energy deposition. The initiative consolidates SENAI CIMATEC as the largest industrial 3D printing Bureau in Brazil, with complete infrastructure and a robust portfolio of technological services and research projects, which includes the Machining and Post-processing Bureau, equipped with advanced technologies for precision machining.
“The expansion of the Additive Manufacturing Bureau generates gains for the industry, such as reduced inventory costs, shorter lead time, greater production flexibility and advances in sustainability. The initiative expands the capacity to serve research, development, and Innovation projects, with more agile solutions aligned with the real demands of the productive sector, in addition to strengthening the training of professionals specialized in industrial 3D printing, highlighted Bruno Caetano, executive manager of business at SENAI CIMATEC.
Throughout the day, the program included a round table, guided tour, and business table, focusing on strengthening partnerships and expanding opportunities for technological cooperation. The guided tour covered the stations of the Bureau of Additive Manufacturing, Reverse Engineering, and the Bureau of Machining, highlighting the technical capacity, the advanced infrastructure, and the scope of operations.
