Sculpteo extends service portfolio with Forward AM materials and more

French 3D printing service Sculpteo has announced the addition of new Forward AM materials to its customer offering. Forward AM is a brand launched by BASF 3D Printing Solutions in 2019 that is geared towards additive manufacturing solutions. Going forward, Sculpteo clients can choose from a broader array of high-performance 3D printing materials, including Ultrasint TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane powder), Ultrasint PA6 FR (flame retardant polymer powder) and PP (polypropylene powder).

The expanded material range is enabled by the fact that Sculpteo has increased its production capacity, adding new 3D printing systems that support Forward AM high-performance materials. The expanded production capacity and new materials are expected to unlock new applications for the AM service’s customers, including industrial applications that require heat resistance, flexibility, strength and cost efficiency.

Sculpteo Forward AM

As part of its announcement, Sculpteo has revealed it has grown its portfolio of 3D printing systems, which now includes powder-based 3D printing, as well as metal FFF and large-format FFF. In addition to the aforementioned Forward AM polymers, Sculpteo now also offers Ultrafuse 316L, a bound metal filament developed by BASF 3D Printing Solutions and released almost exactly one year ago.

To round out its expanded offering, the 3D printing service has also launched a new online platform, which features an updated interface designed for efficiency and user-friendliness. With the new platform, customers can more easily place orders for 3D printed prototypes as well as end-use components. Finally, the company has integrated new post-processing and coating capabilities.

“By doubling Sculpteo’s production capacity we are now able to provide customers with even faster access to our innovative 3D printing materials,” said François Minec, Managing Director of BASF 3D Printing Solutions. “Additionally supported by the online platform, we are taking the next step in helping our customers move towards industrial-scale additive manufacturing.”
