# Roboze and ASRY sign partnership to build AM smart factory in Bahrain

[Roboze](https://www.voxelmatters.com/roboze-named-as-a-technology-pioneer-by-the-world-economic-forum/) has entered into a strategic partnership with Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) in Bahrain to develop the Roboze Advanced Manufacturing Smart Factory, a facility designed to serve the maritime, oil and gas, and defense industries. The partnership forms part of Bahrain’s wider effort to expand its domestic manufacturing base and reduce reliance on imported components.

The agreement was formalized in Manama in the presence of H.R.H. Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The signing took place during Meloni’s participation in the Gulf Cooperation Council summit, where she also met with H.M. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, the Italian government’s office, the meeting reaffirmed the shared intention to strengthen bilateral relations, following the Strategic Partnership on Investments signed last September. It also highlighted ongoing diplomatic engagement, with four meetings held between Meloni and Bahrain’s leadership in 2025 alone. The leaders additionally discussed regional and international developments, including joint efforts to promote stability in the Middle East and to support a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

During the official ceremony, two memoranda of understanding were exchanged: one between Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and ASRY, and another between Roboze and ASRY. The latter sets the foundation for a contract to establish a new smart factory in Bahrain that will enable local production of high-performance components using Roboze’s advanced polymer and composite 3D printing technologies.

Roboze, based in Italy, is known for its high-temperature additive manufacturing systems and partnerships with major industrial players, including [Leonardo](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/leonardo/), Fincantieri, and Ferrari. The collaboration with ASRY marks Roboze’s first major expansion into the Gulf region and reinforces its goal of enabling localized, sustainable manufacturing for strategic sectors.
