UK-based large format additive manufacturing specialist Rapid Fusion has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Italian innovation consultancy Aivox, setting a €1m ($1.16m) target in revenue from the Italian market by the end of 2026.

The deal adds Italy to a growing list of international markets in which Rapid Fusion operates, including Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, and the United States.

Aivox will use, market, and integrate Rapid Fusion’s Zeus, Apollo, Medusa, and Cerberus systems into custom LFAM solutions for industrial clients. Target sectors include building architecture, fashion, medtech, and the Northern Italian naval market. 

The Zeus robotic system was in transit to Monza at the time of the agreement, where it will be installed on rails at Aivox’s dedicated development laboratory and used for customer demonstrations, trials, and product development support.

Partnership rooted in extruder technology

The relationship originated in 2025 when Aivox co-founders Matteo Lomaglio and Francesco Perego initiated discussions around developing custom LFAM solutions based on Rapid Fusion’s PE320 pellet extruder technology.

Following a visit to the company’s Exeter demonstration center, both parties agreed an exclusive arrangement would be mutually beneficial. Discussions with several potential Italian customers were described as being at an advanced stage.

“Having Aivox on board is a massive coup. It is one of Italy’s leading innovation consultancies and a company that thrives on delivering new solutions to real-world engineering problems.”

Hand added that Aivox’s Monza facility provides an immediate base for Rapid Fusion’s technology.

“The facility in Monza also has an amazing development lab that acts as a prototyping/new product introduction nerve centre for clients,” he said. “This is a fantastic environment to initially house Zeus and our other solutions as the relationship develops.”

He cited Aivox’s technical capabilities and its industrial heritage within the LITIX Group as key factors in the agreement, commenting that the partnership represented “a €1m opportunity by the end of this year”.

Perego, CEO of Aivox, stated the firm’s positioning at “the intersection of design, software, and manufacturing” gave it the right profile to embed Rapid Fusion’s systems with Italian clients.

Fellow CEO Lomaglio pointed to a shifting domestic market: “Traditionally, there has been slow adoption of 3D printing in our market, but this is changing, and we believe this is the right time to help educate the market and demonstrate what can be achieved with LFAM. 

“Speed, repeatable quality, ease of iteration, and an increasingly wide material portfolio have seen it move from a prototyping to a powerhouse of manufacturing.”
