Raise3D introduces new multi-purpose E2 3D printer

Raise3D, a 3D printer manufacturer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, has unveiled its latest 3D printer model, the E2. The new machine, described as a multi-purpose, user-friendly, industrial-grade 3D printer, is part of a new series of printers that are being developed by Raise3D for specific materials, applications and industries.

The E2 3D printer offers a range of increasingly standard features, including dual extruders, auto bed leveling and automatic print pausing when the printer’s door is opened. To add to that, the machine also has a fairly large build area of 300 x 240 x 240 mm, an industrial video-assisted offset calibration guide, a power save mode option and a flexible build plate.

At its core, the E2 was developed as a multi-purpose, open 3D printer which could offer manufacturers or educators a user-friendly way to integrate desktop 3D printing into their workflows. The company also offers RaiseCloud, a fully integrated 3D print management system (in Beta version); RaiseFactory, a desktop-based turnkey solution for manufacturers (to become available in Europe in November); and the Open Filament Program, which offers an ever-growing range of advanced technical filaments.

“Raise3D aims to have a portfolio that addresses the specific needs of major industries,” said Diogo Quental, Raise3D’s General Manager for Europe. “With that aim in mind, our R&D team designed a new printer which is easier to optimize for each industry, while keeping the highest standards that we always strive for.”

Within the European market, the new E2 printer will be available exclusively for the Education sector, at a reduced price of €2,499 (+ VAT). Raise3D is targeting the education market because it recognizes the sector’s long-term importance in the adoption and proliferation of AM.

Pro2 series is currently a best choice for manufacturing, and its approval by manufacturers is higher than ever before, but it is hard to combine with the requirements of Education, where, for example, a smaller printer would be easier to handle,” Quental added. “With E2, we can be competitive also in this strategic sector, while at the same time improving our preparation for the future.”

“There is always a fine balance between usability and performance,” commented Edward Feng, Raise3D’s global CEO. “At Raise3D we want our 3D printers to be as inclusive as possible, operated by engineers, technical experts and large manufacturing enterprises, while at the same time providing access to easy to use 3D technologies that support education, entrepreneurial ventures, and desktop engineering.

“We’ve made an extra effort to improve some usability factors in the E2, without compromising performance. Just like automobiles, we know some drivers prefer the manual gearbox to automatic transmission and vice-versa, so we believe the new features will be vitally important for the type of future users we expect from a variety of industries.”

In addition to the new E2, which will begin shipping to customers in November, Raise3D plans to expand its 3D printer portfolio significantly throughout 2020. The new E2 will be presented for the first time this month at TCT Birmingham.
