Radian Forge, based in Portsmouth, Virginia, has closed a $2.5 million Series Seed Preferred financing round led by Veteran Ventures Capital. The funds are intended to expand the company’s large-format wire arc additive manufacturing capacity for U.S. naval, maritime and defense customers.

The financing came through VVC’s Fund II, with additional participation from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) and existing Radian Forge investors. VVC invests in dual-use national security technologies, with a focus on businesses led by military veterans, and its portfolio covers defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity and related technologies.

“The United States cannot sustain naval power or rebuild its fleets without a responsive manufacturing base capable of producing critical components at the speed of the mission,” stated Joshua Weed, General Partner at Veteran Ventures Capital, who led the investment and is set to join Radian Forge’s Board of Directors. “Radian Forge is building the domestic manufacturing capacity needed to help close that gap.”

The round follows a February 2026 plan for Radian Forge to invest $10.5 million in expanding its Portsmouth operations. The project is expected to create 53 jobs and has received approval for a $265,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund.

“America has spent decades accepting manufacturing timelines that no longer match the urgency of the mission. We don’t accept them. Radian Forge is building the capacity to put critical components into the hands of our customers in weeks, not months. This investment allows us to move faster and scale that capability,” stated Jeff Yeager, Chief Executive Officer at Radian Forge.

“Veteran Ventures understands that this isn’t just a manufacturing problem—it’s a readiness problem—and that’s exactly the kind of partner we want beside us.”
