French 3D printing company Prodways Group, a subsidiary of Groupe Gorgé, has announced the launch of a new 3D printer, the compact ProMaker LD-3, for the dental, jewelry, education and prototyping markets. Introduced in partnership with W2P, the new 3D printer is based on Prodways’ UV-LED DLP technology.

With overall dimensions of just 400 x 400 x 545 mm, the ProMaker LD-3 is built to be easily integrated into workstations. The versatile machine is not only compact but is also reasonably priced in order to encourage DLP adoption in a range of industries. Prodways says the new 3D printer aims to meet the needs of professionals initiating their transition to a digital work stream.

As of the third quarter (Q3), the ProMaker LD-3 will be available exclusively as a full dental package, which will include the DLP 3D printer, dental-grade materials, Prodways’ dental expert support and training. Included in the dental materials are Prodways resins for dental repair work models, thermoforming models, burnout resins for fixed crowns and casting and CE certified resins for implant guides.

The dental package will soon become available through a monthly subscription at a total cost of ownership of less than 1,990 euros. Prodways will also introduce a ProMaker LD-3 package for the jewelry market this year, and education and prototyping packages in 2019.

With the launch of the ProMaker LD-3, Prodways has extended its portfolio of DLP 3D printers and will enable it to reach a new segment of professionals who are seeking to integrate an affordable and compact AM system into their office or lab.

Further specifications for Prodways’ new ProMaker LD-3 include a build volume of 64 x 120 x 130 mm, layer thicknesses of between 25 and 200 µm and a pixel size of 50 µm.
