PostProcess Technologies Inc., a developer of automated post-processing solutions for 3D printing, has signed a distribution agreement with a Japan-based specialist in industrial machinery, K.K. IRISU(a subsidiary of C. ILLIES). The agreement marks PostProcess Technologies’ first entry into the Japanese market.

Founded in 1859 as the first German trading house in Japan, K.K. IRISU now offers a broad portfolio of products to its Japanese clients. Within additive manufacturing, the company distributes products from various brands, including Shining 3D, BigRep and, as of last year, Roboze. With the addition of PostProcess Technologies’ solutions to its offering, K.K. IRISU customers will be able to benefit from automated post-processing technologies for industrial 3D printing.

“PostProcess has been a pioneer in our market segment, leading the way with a full-stack approach to post-printing unlike any other,” said Bruno Bourguet, Managing Director of PostProcess Technologies International. “That’s why we’ve chosen K.K.IRISU, another pioneer with an exceptional legacy, for its experience and expertise to serve our growing global customer base in Japan.”

Over the past couple of years, PostProcess Technologies has expanded its distribution network significantly. Last November, for instance, the Buffalo, NY-based company signed agreements with two distributors in Europe, CYLAOS, a French engineering company, and Nordic company KMC. Now, with its entry into the Japanese market, it has its sights set on even more growth.

“K.K.IRISU’s main objective is to educate the Japanese market in additive manufacturing and to continue to be the solution provider for the Japanese 3D manufacturing world,” commented Dr. Frank Oberndorff, President of K. K. IRISU. “We feel that by adding PostProcess Technologies to our lineup, will help assist the Japanese market to compete with other countries in Additive manufacturing as well as globally maintain the high standards of the tag ‘Made in Japan’.”

PostProcess Technologies’ solutions comprise a combination of software and finishing hardware that enable users to produce “customer-ready” 3D printed parts in a streamlined, automated fashion. The company’s solutions address various aspects of the post-printing process, including support, resin and powder removal, as well as surface finishing.

To mark their distribution partnership, PostProcess Technologies and K.K. IRISU will jointly exhibit at the Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions 2020 Expo at Makuhari Messe this February.
