Polymaker launches new heat-stable filaments
HT-PLA and HT-PLA-GF are now available in Canada and the US
Polymaker, a 3D printing materials company, has released HT-PLA and HT-PLA-GF in the North American market. These advanced materials are set to redefine the capabilities of PLA. HT-PLA boasts a heat resistance of over 150°C without the need for annealing, while HT-PLA-GF integrates glass fiber reinforcement for high-strength applications. Together, these filaments make PLA a compelling option not only for hobbyists but also for engineers and manufacturers designing parts for demanding environments.
Traditional PLA has long been favored for its ease of use and eco-friendliness, but its limitations in heat resistance and mechanical strength have prevented broader adoption in functional applications. Polymaker addressed PLA’s brittleness in 2014 with the launch of Tough PLA, and now, in 2025, it takes aim at heat resistance.
“Since day one, Polymaker has been on a mission to redefine what’s possible with 3D printing materials,” said Luke Taylor, Creative Director at Polymaker. “With HT-PLA, we’ve cracked the code on PLA’s heat-stable challenge, delivering a filament that combines professional-grade durability with the accessibility PLA is known for. This isn’t just a technical upgrade – it’s a game-changer that empowers everyone, from hobbyists crafting in their garages to engineers designing for industrial applications, to create parts that stand up to real-world demands. HT-PLA and HT-PLA-GF bring unmatched heat stability and strength to the table, and we can’t wait to see how they’ll inspire new breakthroughs in additive manufacturing.”

HT-PLA
HT-PLA is designed to be compatible with most FDM/FFF 3D printers and delivers a unique combination of thermal stability, printability, and aesthetics. It is capable of withstanding temperatures exceeding 150°C – making it one of the most heat-stable PLAs on the market. This makes it well-suited for outdoor and heat-prone applications. The filament is available in 10 solid colors and 4 gradient options, enabling creators to achieve both functionality and visual appeal. Use cases include automotive accessories, outdoor enclosures, cosplay props, and utility fixtures.
HT-PLA-GF
For applications requiring enhanced mechanical properties, HT-PLA-GF incorporates glass fiber reinforcement. This variant is optimized for annealing and delivers nearly double the stiffness of ABS, along with superior tensile strength. Its dimensional accuracy, minimal warping, and shrinkage make it suitable for high-load parts such as power tool accessories. HT-PLA-GF is offered in 9 colors, including specialized options tailored for industrial use.
Applications
Polymaker’s launch of HT-PLA and HT-PLA-GF opens new doors for functional 3D printing. These filaments enable the production of durable, heat-resistant components such as dashboard mounts for electronics exposed to summer heat, or drill holders that endure garage workspaces. Other real-world use cases include summer-safe cosplay props, automotive tool fixtures, outdoor electronics enclosures, and structural prototypes for engineering validation.
