# Phillips Corporation renames Hybrid division Phillips Advanced Manufacturing Solutions

[Phillips Corporation](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/phillips-federal-division/) has renamed its Hybrid division Phillips Advanced Manufacturing Solutions (AMS) and promoted Brian Kristaponis to president of the unit. The Hanover, Maryland-based manufacturing technology supplier said the new name reflects the division's expanded reach across hybrid, standalone additive and deployable manufacturing systems, beyond its original hybrid-focused identity.

Kristaponis joined Phillips Corporation in 2016 and became general manager of the Hybrid division in 2023. In his new role, he will oversee the division's strategic direction, OEM partnerships, applications engineering, sales, service and its expansion across commercial manufacturing, federal programs, research institutions and workforce development.

## A broader technology portfolio

Phillips Advanced Manufacturing Solutions now covers hybrid systems that combine additive and subtractive processes, standalone additive manufacturing technology, [large-format robotic metal additive and machining systems and services](https://www.voxelmatters.com/phillips-corporation-and-mx3d-unite-to-advance-robotic-wire-arc-ded-in-the-u-s/), and deployable, expeditionary point-of-need manufacturing equipment, alongside hardware, software, applications engineering and lifecycle support.

Phillips said the division supports mission-related, commercial and education-sector customers, including distributed and point-of-need production environments. The unit works through partnerships with Meltio, Fronius, Laserline, InssTek and MX3D.

“This rebrand reflects a fundamental shift in how manufacturing is evolving,” said Brian Kristaponis, President of Phillips Advanced Manufacturing Solutions. “Our customers are increasingly focused on how technologies come together to improve flexibility, resilience, and speed. 

“Phillips Advanced Manufacturing Solutions positions us to lead in that environment, bringing together a broad ecosystem of technologies, partners, and expertise to deliver integrated manufacturing solutions while continuing to support the critical equipment that powers production."

## Leadership frames move as customer-driven
