Paragon Medical, a global medical device manufacturer, has further expanded its additive manufacturing capabilities through a partnership with 3D Systems. The partnership leverages the historical expertise and capabilities of both organizations – offering a combined commercial approach within the medical device industry.
Paragon Medical’s and 3D Systems’ partnership includes machine onboarding and validation; part design and process development; regulatory support; and material sourcing and supply.
“We are pleased to partner with 3D Systems to offer unparalleled additive manufacturing capabilities to our customers,” said Wil Boren, CEO of Paragon Medical. “3D Systems brings best-in-class expertise to the additive technology and process. Combined with Paragon Medical’s end-to-end supply chain offering, we can provide a solution that enables the medical device community to commercialize with excellence.”
Paragon Medical is deploying some of the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art technology in both their existing Innovation Center and new 34,000-square-foot additive manufacturing site (anticipated to fully open in the Spring of 2023). The new facility, coupled with the company’s existing AM design and production capabilities at its Orthopedic Innovation Center in Warsaw, demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to innovation in design and manufacturing.

Paragon Medical’s 3D printing capabilities can reduce lead time, cost, and supply chain complexity across product lines in the medical device industry. The company serves as the extension of medical device teams to streamline product launches and ongoing commercial supply – enabling continuous delivery of best-in-class products to customers.
“3D Systems is excited to partner with Paragon Medical to help them scale medical device production with state-of-the-art metal and plastic 3D printing technologies. This is a continuation of our strategy to grow the preferred partner network and simplify the supply chain for medical device OEMs to bring innovative products to market” said Gautam Gupta, Senior VP and General Manager of Medical Devices for 3D Systems.
“Through our expertise in not only additive manufacturing, but also post-processing and supply chain management, we are able to offer a full end-to-end solution to our clients,” said Daniel Owens, VP of Innovation and Technology at Paragon Medical. “Market acceptance of AM will continue to grow through education of the technology and strategic partnerships between OEMs and CMOs that offer unique capabilities backed by R&D and operational expertise.”
