OVE presents new OVO extrusion 3D printer with ultrafast full color 3D printing

Polish startup OVE has joined forces with Memjet, a global leader in 2D printing technology, and scientists from the Warsaw University of Technology, to tackle the challenges of full-color extrusion 3D printing, developing OVO, a new system which promises to make this technology finally reliable and accessible.

For many years, full-color 3D printing in filament extrusion (FDM/FFF) technology has represented an unattainable goal that many companies sought, but most suffered a more or less spectacular defeat.

OVE was founded in 2015 in Warsaw, Poland, where it began work on the OVV system. The full-color filament extrusion machine was designed in cooperation with Memjet Ltd. – a global group specializing in the production of classic printing systems, working with a team led by Dr. Robert Sitnik from the Mechatronics Department of the Warsaw University of Technology. The 3D printer creates details from thermoplastic material and each layer is covered with color ink from the Memjet print head. OVO

The coloring process takes place immediately – the entire surface of the given print layer is covered with ink during one pass of the printheads. The device has an A4 size (210 x 300 mm) working area and can build up to to 300 mm on the Z-axis.

“OVO is an ideal tool for quick 3D printing of all kinds of colorful prototypes,” said Tomasz Płuciennik, CEO of OVE. “It will be used in heavy industry, education, architecture, medicine, marketing and entertainment. During initial talks with potential customers, we’ve seen interest from companies from Germany and the USA.”


The OVO 3D printer works with several types of common thermoplastics that easily take on coloring. OVE is also promising a steady expansion in the range of materials that can be used with its system. In addition to the fully integrated 3D printer, OVE also developed a unique OEM kit to enable other manufacturers to add a Memjet color printing module to their systems. The printer uses its own software that allows easy application of colors, textures, information or notes (e.g. QR codes) on the entire surface of a 3D printed model.

The OVO 3D printer will debut at the Formnext fair in Frankfurt am Main, Germany which will take place on November 19-22, 2019. The company will take pre-orders for machines that are expected to be delivered to customers in the second quarter of 2020. The price of the device was set at around € 10,000.
