After finalizing operations in Japan, DfAM design software specialist nTopology has now signed a new reseller partnership with engineering solutions provider Harvestance for the market in South Korea. Harvestance is one of the leading DfAM experts in the region with years of experience across various roles in the industry.

nTopology’s Asian expansion is proceeding rapidly, by once again establishing a presence in another one of the USA’s key allied nations in the Asian market. This strategy certainly makes sense for a young firm which is in part backed by companies and organizations that represent strategic national interests, such as Lockheed Martin and the CIA.

As nTopology confirmed to 3dpbm, the company is actually working to develop all Asian markets, however, it’s only natural that some of the more open Asian nations, such as Japan and South Korea are easier for a young software firm to enter than the huge and fragmented Chinese market. It is also this writer’s opinion that nTopology’s extremely advanced design capabilities are considered a key strategic national resource at some level.

In this specific case, Hervestence is a consulting group specializing in additive manufacturing technology The company was established in November of last year, with the goal of revitalizing the stagnant domestic additive manufacturing market and accelerate the application of the manufacturing industry. Harvestance now conducts DfAM consulting (design optimization, equipment, material technology advice) and training for human resources for domestic companies and research institutes.

nTopology signs Harvestance

Additive manufacturing software technology scattered in several existing software is implemented in nTop Platform to solve design, simulation, optimization, weight reduction, lattice, texturing, and build preparation on one platform. Above all, it is very light and easy to control complex geometric modeling that is impossible with existing software technology, so it is attracting attention from designers and research developers, the company explained.

nTopology announced that through this partnership, it expects to create more successful additive manufacturing cases in the Korean additive manufacturing market, based on the certified DfAM consulting technology of nTop Platform and Harvestance

Specifically,  Harvestance is conducting DfAM consulting to improve thermal efficiency with automobile industry customers using various toolkits of nTop Platform. In addition, consulting with the aviation industry is underway to reduce the weight of aviation parts. In addition, a lattice optimization project is underway with the national research institute to minimize thermal deformation during manufacturing by utilizing the nTop Platform for mold parts manufactured using metal 3D printing.
