Nikon SLM Solutions integrates Dyndrite LPBF Pro across metal AM portfolio
Dyndrite, a company specializing in next-gen digital manufacturing software driven by its GPU-accelerated computation engine, is partnering with Nikon SLM Solutions to integrate its LPBF Pro software into the latter’s metal AM portfolio. This cooperation will enable Nikon SLM Solutions customers to take advantage of more advanced process control and gain access to greater functionality when it comes to toolpath generation, multi-laser control and more.
Dyndrite released an updated version of its LPBF Pro software in summer 2024, introducing a host of new features and capabilities all aimed at enhancing the performance and efficiency of metal AM platforms. Now, the solution can be used across Nikon SLM Solutions’ metal 3D printing portfolio, including the SLM125, SLM280, SLM500 and NXG series, all of which have an open architecture.
“This partnership between Nikon SLM Solutions and Dyndrite represents a milestone for industries where metal additive manufacturing is essential to achieving high-performance, differentiated parts,” commented Simone Castellani, CTO of Nikon SLM Solutions. “Our combined commitment to open architecture provides customers with unparalleled access to capabilities that drive innovation, fast-track production and maximize efficiency across the entire process. Ultimately, our customers benefit the most by reducing time-to-market and achieving lower end-part costs.”
With the LPBF Pro software, Nikon SLM Solutions customers will be able to leverage advanced toolpath strategies on single or multi-laser 3D printers. By enhancing toolpath generation, it is possible to unlock such advantages as faster printing rates, improved part quality, minimized supports and even greater geometric freedom. The partners specifically cite capabilities like scalable slicing, low-angle support-free printing, optimized multi-laser coordination and on-the-fly laser manipulation.
The open architecture software and hardware combo also enables Nikon SLM users to develop their own IP, giving greater freedom and control over the AM process. This is especially valuable in industries like aerospace, defense, energy, automotive and medical, that are pushing the boundaries of AM applications and technologies.
“Our collaboration with Nikon SLM Solutions represents a game-changer for the metal additive manufacturing industry that has been years in the making,” added Harshil Goel, CEO of Dyndrite. “Nikon SLM Solutions’ open architecture combined with Dyndrite’s compute and software capabilities delivers an unmatched solution for users seeking to dramatically increase build speed, improve part quality or print without supports. We look forward to the array of new parts and part economics that have been fundamentally enabled due to our combined solution. If you are seeking to print inconel 718 and/or Titanium parts without supports come find us!”
You can learn more about Dyndrite’s software solution and Nikon SLM Solutions’ metal AM systems at Formnext this week. Dyndrite can be found at booth E-119 in Hall 12.0, while Nikon SLM Solutions is in the same hall at booth D-119. The two partners will also be hosting in a webinar on December 10, 2024.
