# Nikon SLM Solutions and NB Additive form North American partnership

[Nikon SLM Solutions](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/slm-solutions/) and NB Additive have formed a strategic partnership to expand access to industrial metal additive manufacturing systems and build out integrated production workflows across North America.

The agreement pairs [Nikon SLM Solutions' multi-laser metal AM platforms](https://www.voxelmatters.com/hii-orders-nxg-600e-from-nikon-slm-solutions/) with NB Additive's capabilities in workflow integration, production strategy, and manufacturing implementation. The two companies stated the collaboration is directed at manufacturers looking to move beyond prototyping into repeatable, production-scale operations.

Target sectors include aerospace, defense, energy, and high-performance industrial manufacturing, with an emphasis on production-scale adoption and end-to-end workflow development. NB Additive, which operates as a vendor-neutral AM sales and advisory firm, selected Nikon SLM Solutions based on the company's multi-laser systems, open parameter architecture, and what NB Additive described as industrial reliability.

## From prototyping to production

The partnership addresses challenges the companies identified as common barriers to wider AM adoption: limited scalability of conventional additive systems, fragmentation between printing and post-processing stages, and unclear return-on-investment pathways.

NB Additive's model spans both metal and polymer AM, supporting customers across part selection, investment justification, and full workflow implementation. The firm's post-processing and automation focus is central to how it positions itself within the broader manufacturing supply chain.

“At Nikon SLM Solutions, we believe additive manufacturing reaches its full potential when it enables true industrial production,” said Sam O'Leary, Chief Executive Officer of Nikon SLM Solutions. “NB Additive brings deep expertise in workflow implementation and production strategy, making them a strong partner for helping manufacturers scale additive manufacturing beyond isolated applications and into repeatable industrial operations.”

Jens Kautzor, Co-Founder and Managing Director of NB Additive, added: “Additive manufacturing only becomes valuable when it works in production. Our partnership with Nikon SLM Solutions allows us to bring true industrial capability to our customers — combining high-productivity printing with the workflow expertise needed to make it profitable. This is about moving the industry from promise to performance.”

The partnership is expected to drive growth over the next 18 to 24 months as manufacturers increase AM adoption for production applications.
