Adidas to debut new Alphaedge 4D sneakers on May 31st

Sneaker News is reporting that adidas is about to launch a new version of its Alphaedge 4D sneakers, yes the ones that sport 3D printed midsoles. The modified part is not expected to be in the midsoles as much as in the upper part of the sneaker.

According to images posted on the site, the new Alphaedge 4D features a close resemblance to the uppers of the Alphabounce. Green-hinted bottoms add their typical color signature with the rest of the kit staying either a matte black or a bright white. A synthetic mesh creates the overall base from the toe to the sock liner top line with various augments by way of ribbed molds and hardshell support paneling adding a visual dimension to what has primarily been a one-noted creation.

The new sneakers are still expected to be priced around $300, and the fact that adidas is releasing yet another version (after several iterations over the past couple of years) seems to confirm that the product is well received and the price is not considered too high.

We’ve recently reported how footwear is likely going to become the largest consumer segment for AM adoption, with several major brands currently researching and implementing a number of different approaches. So far adidas seems to have gotten the right one.
