Israeli 3D printed electronics specialist Nano Dimension Ltd. has announced a significant expansion within the United States. The company, which has been ramping up its global presence over the past year, says it has sold units of its DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D printer to three prominent American customers. In addition, Nano Dimension has also announced the inauguration of its third Customer Experience Center (CEC) in Santa Clara, California.

A pioneer in 3D printed electronics, Nano Dimension took its own technology to the next level this past September with the release of the DragonFly 2020 Pro, a larger-format, upgraded version of its well-known desktop DragonFly 2020 PCB printer. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the new system has gained a huge amount of interest around the globe, with research institutes and companies snatching up the electronics 3D printing system.

Now, three American companies will join Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, the University of Sydney and a leading research institute from Hong Kong as owners of Nano Dimension’s DragonFly 2020 Pro machine. Though the new customers have remained nameless, Nano Dimension has revealed the “prominent” clients to be a world leader in the practical application of advanced technologies, an industry-leading advanced manufacturer specializing in AM and a premier reseller of 3D printers and CAD software.

Not only will Nano Dimension be increasing the number of its PCB 3D printers within the U.S. market through these sales, but it has also established a new Customer Experience Center, which is located at the company’s American headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The company’s first U.S.-based CEC is found in Ventura, California and was opened in December 2017 in partnership with XponentialWorks.

“With a new Customer Experience Center in our Santa Clara office, a growing U.S. sales team and additional U.S. resellers, we are establishing wide presence in the U.S. market to accelerate revenue growth,” commented Simon Fried, President of Nano Dimension USA Inc.

Presently, Nano Dimension has agreements with ten resellers around the globe, including TriMech and Fathom in the U.S., HDC in South Korea and General Integration Technology in Taiwan. As it continues to expand the reach of its PCB and electronics 3D printing technology, the company aims to reshape the electronics manufacturing market completely.

By combining the ability to precisely 3D print conductive metal inks and polymer materials simultaneously, the DragonFly 2020 Pro is suitable for prototyping electronic components, including sensors, conductive geometries, antennas, molded interconnect devices, PCBs and more. As the technology itself becomes more sophisticated, Nano Dimension even envisions being able to 3D print fully functional electronic devices.
