Over the past few months, Namthaja, a Saudi Arabian 3D printing solutions provider that currently has more than 60 printers that have produced more than 150,000 parts, has opted to install three of Caracol’s robotic LFAM platforms – starting with the Heron AM polymer and composite systems, each with a default build area of approximately 3m³ that can be scaled as necessary. The company will be introducing the metal printing system shortly.

Namthaja has already achieved great results in sectors that are already adopters of AM technology (maritime, industrial machinery, design, architecture, construction, etc) – producing parts for clients in the NEMA area that include an air conditioner cover frame, a bridge for connecting the marine dock and ship decks that can hold up to 750kg, and a complex and artistically designed planter for a hotel.

Caracol believes that there is a lot of untapped potential for LFAM technologies in the MENA market and that – as it has already been shown with Namthaja – it is a matter of collaboration and co-creation of value. The company aims to spread the capabilities of robotic LFAM in order to push the technology towards becoming a standard industrial process and truly deliver on its potential in terms of efficiency and sustainability. Therefore, with all its partners, it encourages the open and continuous sharing of knowledge of applications, parameters, processes, and materials.

“We are extremely proud to be partnering with Namthaja in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, as they’ve demonstrated exceptional know-how and ability to use additive manufacturing technologies to deliver innovation in the region. In response to the highly demanding projects they had, the company has already acquired and installed our Heron AM machines – creating one of the largest large-format additive manufacturing production centers in the region. Working with such exceptional partners around the world is what we believe will lead to delivering radical innovation to processes and manufacturing approaches to companies on a global scale,” said Francesco De Stefano, Co-founder and CEO of Caracol.
