NAMI and MBK Global sign agreement to expand additive manufacturing across the Gulf
Saudi-Qatari partnership targets spare parts supply, digital industrial solutions, and sector diversification
Saudi Arabia’s National Innovation Industrial Company (NAMI) and Qatar-based MBK Global have signed a strategic framework agreement to develop advanced industrial solutions across the Gulf region, with additive manufacturing and digital technologies at the center of the collaboration.
The agreement pairs NAMI’s capabilities in AM, reverse engineering, and digital inventory management with MBK Global’s portfolio in artificial intelligence, industrial automation, digital twins, and Industry 4.0 technologies. The two companies stated they intend to deliver integrated industrial solutions to operators across Qatar, with a focus on reducing lead times, improving asset availability, and strengthening supply chain performance.
Spare parts and supply chain
A primary focus of the partnership is expanding access to AM-produced spare parts for Qatar-based industrial operators. Under the framework, NAMI’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities would be made available through MBK Global’s existing relationships across Qatari industry, with the companies reporting that the arrangement is designed to reduce dependence on extended international supply chains for critical components.
The agreement also establishes a structure for evaluating joint opportunities across energy, heavy industry, critical infrastructure, aerospace, and defense — sectors where on-demand parts production and digital inventory tools have seen growing adoption.
Workforce and technology transfer
Beyond manufacturing applications, the two organizations stated they would pursue collaboration in workforce development and knowledge exchange, as well as joint initiatives supporting technology transfer and capability development across key industries.
NAMI, established in 2022, operates within Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 framework, which targets the localization of advanced manufacturing technologies and the development of domestic industrial capacity. MBK Global focuses on industrial modernization across critical sectors in Qatar.
