# MOVA unveils AtomForm Palette 300 3D printer at San Jose event

The system automatically identifies each nozzle's color, material type, and diameter, and compensates for microscopic alignment variations to achieve positioning accuracy of ±0.02 mm. MOVA claimed nozzle swaps are up to 50% faster than comparable systems and that filament waste can be reduced by up to 90% compared to conventional purge-based multi-material printing.

Complementing the nozzle system is the ReadyPrint feeding mechanism, which stages the next filament in advance of each color or material transition to minimize purging. Filament storage and conditioning are handled by the RFD-6, an integrated unit combining drying, storage, and active feeding in a dual-zone configuration. The upper zone dries the filament at temperatures up to 85°C, while the lower zone feeds directly into the printer, allowing drying and printing to run in parallel.

The Palette 300 uses FOC step-servo motors for motion control, reaching a maximum print speed of 800 mm/s with acceleration up to 25,000 mm/s². The build volume is 300 × 300 × 300 mm, the hotend reaches up to 350°C, and the heated chamber is rated to 65°C—a combination that positions the machine for engineering-grade materials alongside standard FDM filaments. Extruder components are hardened steel. Three independent Z-axis motors actively level the build plate during printing, and real-time vibration compensation operates at high speeds. Operating noise is rated at 48 dB or below. The machine weighs 25 kg and measures 462 × 479 × 579 mm. Remote monitoring and control are available through the AutoForm app.
