Since its founding in 2014, Mosaic has revolutionized additive manufacturing through its multi-material 3D printing technology. Its comprehensive ecosystem empowers companies to modernize their polymer supply chains. The company’s advanced platform, Array, is designed to tackle the challenges of mass-scale production, cost-efficiency, and reliability using fused filament fabrication (FFF) technology.

The Array system integrates proprietary hardware, automation, and software, creating an industrial-grade platform that brings flexibility, throughput, and cost-effectiveness to the manufacturing process.

With over 15,000 units of hardware already in the market, Mosaic has refined its tools based on customer feedback and its strong intellectual property portfolio. This experience is paving the way for the next generation of additive manufacturing tools that support part production at an unprecedented price point.

James McColl, Senior Program Manager at Microart Services Inc., remarked, “The ability to develop and produce custom plastic parts at scale, on our factory floor, is great for our business and new client acquisition.”

Mosaic’s solutions have already made inroads in industries like logistics, defense, consumer apparel, education, and contract manufacturing. The company has exciting new partnerships and projects in the pipeline, set to be announced in the coming months.

A bet on the digitalization of manufacturing

The new Mosaic funding round was led by Idealist Capital, with Freycinet Ventures also participating. Idealist Capital’s Partner, François Boudreault, praised Mosaic’s emphasis on sustainability, stating, “Mosaic’s focus on throughput, quality, and cost-efficiency is unlocking novel applications for additive manufacturing while significantly reducing the often-overlooked waste produced by conventional manufacturing processes.”

This investment underscores the increasing need for domestic manufacturing and supply chain localization, particularly in light of global challenges such as national security concerns and geopolitical risks.

The global manufacturing sector is under immense pressure to shift away from traditional, resource-intensive production methods. Mosaic’s approach leverages automation, digital workflows, and additive manufacturing technologies to localize part production, offering a more sustainable and adaptable alternative.

The Array system enables manufacturers to produce high-quality goods near the points of demand, helping to minimize supply chain vulnerabilities, reduce environmental impact, and increase operational efficiency.

What’s next for Mosaic?

With this latest funding round, Mosaic is poised to further solidify its leadership in the additive manufacturing sector. The company will continue to expand its footprint in factories worldwide, enabling its customers to build resilient, sustainable, and future-ready supply chains.

Idealist Capital’s investment follows prior contributions from notable investors such as Techstars, Real Ventures, and SOAN, along with several key organizations like DDQIC, NGen, and Canada Makes. This positions Mosaic to be at the forefront of the supply chain transformation that manufacturers globally are pursuing.

Mosaic’s $28 million CAD financing round marks a significant step forward in addressing critical supply chain issues through additive manufacturing. With the Array platform, Mosaic is helping industries reduce environmental waste, localize production, and build more resilient supply chains. As more companies look to modernize and future-proof their operations, Mosaic’s innovative solutions offer a path to sustainable, scalable manufacturing.
