Mogassam introduces DentCase for automated dental 3D printing
The new 3D printer is being showcased at IDS 2019 in Cologne, Germany this week

With the International Dental Show (IDS) well underway in Cologne, there hasn’t been a shortage of dentistry-related additive manufacturing news. Already, Prodways introduced a new modular solution for mass producing dental aligners and Carbon announced a partnership with Keystone Industries through which it will 3D print clear nightguards and splints. Now, Delaware-based 3D printing company Mogassam has unveiled the new DentCase 3D printer, designed specifically for dental applications.
The new 3D printer aims to revolutionize the dental industry’s digital workflow by streamlining the 3D printing process. The DentCase system consists of an all-in-one automated setup that integrates DentPrint software, DLP 3D printing hardware, smart washing and advanced post-curing equipment.
Mogassam emphasizes the high degree of automation that has been built into its DentCase 3D printer to ensure that dental labs are not encumbered with laborious print preparation and post-printing steps.
For instance, the DentPrint software features tools for automatic print orientation and support generation. The software also enables the printing of intra oral scans, trimming and labeling functions, automatic slice drafting and anti-aliasing for a superior surface finish.
Mogassam also offers dental labs a GetCAD service through which it will generate printable models based on scan data sent from the labs.
The DentCase 3D printer, for its part, is also loaded with automated features including auto resin filling, Z-axis calibration and washing functions. The user friendly machine also integrates a spill proof mechanism for resin and alcohol as well as smell filters for the materials.
The print technology is based on a DLP optical engine and offers an accuracy of 50 micrometers, a Z resolution of 20 micrometers, X,Y resolutions of 85 micrometers and a print speed of 4 cm per hour. The printer has a build capacity of up to 120 x 75 x 100 mm.
In terms of applications, Mogassam’s DentCase 3D printer can be used in dental labs to produce surgical guides, clear aligners, denture bases, digital wax crowns, temporary crowns and all manner of dental models.
The Delaware-based dental 3D printing company will be showcasing its new additive manufacturing system at IDS 2019 all week in Cologne, Germany.
